The Zambia Real Estate Awards needed a way for the public to nominate people and companies across the award categories, then vote on the shortlist, with results the organisers could trust. The whole event runs from one setting the organisers control. They open nominations, switch to voting, and close the event, and the public site changes with each phase. Because people type nominee names freely, the system compares each new name with the existing ones. Near-identical names merge automatically, and close but uncertain matches are flagged for an organiser to review, so votes aren't split across spellings of the same nominee. Each device can vote for up to five different nominees per category, and repeat submissions are caught by combining server and browser fingerprints. The organisers manage categories, nominees, voting and results from a dashboard with an activity log.
